DRIVER'S TRAINING FOR THE CREDIT CARD HIGHWAY

Driver's Training for the Credit Card highway is a workshop designed for teen audiences as well as adults. It consists of a PowerPoint presentation focusing on credit card use and debt prevention. Participants receive a "Driver's Manual" that they complete during the presentations. this booklet can be kept as a resource of important credit information.

In 2007, the Driver's Training Program was adapted to be more interactive. With the new format, participants not only use the program booklet, but also use a "Cricket" personal response device during the presentations. The "Cricket" allows all participants to be continuously involved in the workshop. Using the "Cricket," the participant selects the best possible answer. The program shows all the responses on the screen instantaneously. This is ideal for instruction as an immediate participants assessment can clarify any participant misunderstandings baed on the chosen answers. The Drivers Credit Training program includes all instructional and participant materials, as well as, brochures and resource guides for reference upon completion of the workshop.

Reviews

At the end of each presentation, evaluation forms are distributed so that each student can rate the workshop on the level of its effectiveness. Here is some feedback we’ve received on previous presentations:

“Now I know how to properly use a credit card, and I know where to get help if I run into trouble.”

“Interest makes me pay more than the item actually costs. It adds up and can take a long time to pay off if I only pay the minimum.”

“Wow, a budget was easier to create than I thought.”
