![]() Penn State Erie and the Center for Credit and Consumer Behavior (CCCR) are committed to providing financial education necessary to build a foundation for the future success of our area youth. In 2007, the Penn State Erie CCCR partnered with other organizations that shared the common goal of educating area students and families to make smart decisions for a successful financial future. This objective was achieved through a special partnership with the Erie Times News in Education, the Erie Federal Credit Union, Junior Achievement of Erie, and the United Way of Erie County. Beginning in September 2007, a weekly financial education feature was published in the Times News every Friday and continued throughout the 2007-08 school year. The financial literacy project actively involved over 6,000 students in 72 schools in the Erie area by providing newspapers in the classroom that were used as a solid inexpensive curriculum by teachers and students.
